    What are the Student Requirements?

    Students registering for the ISA Arborist Certification Preparatory Course must meet the eligibility requirements necessary to test at course completion.  These requirements are specified by the ISA Certification Board. Registrants must have:

    • Three years of full time experience in arboriculture, or
    • A two year degree in arboriculture and two years of practical experience, or
    • A four year degree in a related field and one year of practical experience.
    • Private business owners will be required to provide three letters of reference.

     

    What does the Course Cover?

    The ISA Arborist Certification Preparatory Course curriculum was developed by a team of arboricultural professionals and educators with years of experience in leading urban forestry, arboriculture, and horticulture training programs at the local, state, federal, and non-profit levels. There are sixteen major components of the ISA curriculum culminating with the administration of the ISA Arborist Certification exam.  a variety of formats are presented including lectures, workshops, multi-media presentations, panel discussions, group exercises, and real-life scenarios.

    Registration Deadline

    Students must submit registrations and proper payment no later than fourteen (14) days before the first scheduled class session unless prior arrangement is made with the training instructor.

    Fees

    The one time course fee covers classroom facilities, handouts, transcripts, copies of any presented electronic media, and include the above listed course materials with the exception of tree identification guides.  Identification guides must be purchased by the student.  Please note that ISA test registration fees are NOT included must be paid to ISA International directly when the test application is submitted.  Membership to ISA and Individual chapters is also NOT provided through the course, but is strongly recommended.  Course fees are subject to change without notice, and are non-refundable.

    After you registration and payment is received by the course instructor you will receive a confirmation letter.  You will be required to present this confirmation letter as well as proper I.D. at the first class session.  If there is a problem with the your registration or course fee, you will be contacted by the primary course instructor.  If the problem is not corrected, you will not be able to attend class.  If circumstances change after you have submitted your registration and fee you must contact your primary course instructor before the fourteen (14) day deadline.

    Classes will also be available online in a webinar format, and CEU's will be available for each session.
