    Fruit Tree Grafting Workshop

    Date: Friday, April 13, 2018
    Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    Location: 4-H Building located on the Lewis & Clark County Fairgrounds
    Cost: $15.00 (pre-registration is required and class size is limited to 25)

    This workshop will explain the basics of successful grafting. We will also discuss rootstock and cultivar selection for Montana. This workshop will demonstrate 3 of the basic grafting techniques (cleft, whip & tongue and chip budding). Participants will be able to practice the three techniques. At the end of the workshop each participant will be able to select an apple or pear  rootstock and then select the species specific scion wood of their choice for grafting onto their rootstock. Each participant will leave with their own grafted fruit tree. Additional trees can be purchased and grafted for an additional $5.00 each. This workshop was approved for 3 ISA continuing education credits.
